I am a 4th year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, advised by Prof. Toby Jia-Jun Li. Before joining ND, I received two M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and the University of Minnesota, where I was advised by Dr. Zhen Bai and Dr. Haiyi Zhu respectively. I received B.Eng. in Software Engineering from Shaanxi Normal University. I have also worked at Apple, AWS AI and Meta Reality Labs as a research scientist intern.
My research focuses on human-AI interaction, aiming to design interactive AI-powered systems that provide adaptive, context-sensitive, on-demand support throughout complex cognitive tasks. I have developed human-AI collaborative tools that adapt dynamically to evolving user goals, providing progressive cognitive scaffolding to enhance social interaction and learning beyond the traditional classroom. Additionally, I have implemented semi-automated systems that learn incrementally from user demonstrations, enabling AI to gradually streamline workflows, accelerate insight generation, and support meaningful decision-making.
I am on the job market for tenure-track faculty positions or relevant industry research positions. If you know of any suitable opportunities, please feel free to reach out!
